A groove cut into soft aluminum
Original builder tracks are soft. Once a steel roller has cut into the crown, replacement rollers ride straight back into that groove. Frequent in West Anaheim.

The short answer
Sliding door track repair in Anaheim, CA starts at $225. Most worn tracks are capped with a stainless steel insert rather than replaced, which restores a true running surface in 90–180 minutes and outlasts the original aluminum. Tracks corroded through or crushed are cut out and replaced with the sub-sill resealed.

The reason we always take the panel out before quoting a Anaheim repair is simple: you cannot assess a track with the door in it. Half the tracks that look fine from above are grooved along the run where the roller actually sits, and that changes the job from a roller swap to a track cap. Anaheim is large enough to hold several different cities of housing: the older Colony Historic District, postwar tracts across the west side, newer apartment and condo living in the Platinum Triangle, and the hillside houses of Anaheim Canyon Hills. The hillside homes tend to have larger openings and more exposure, while the flatland stock is older and simpler.
Across town the driver is hot, dry inland summers with Santa Ana wind episodes, and a lot of dust and grit from freeway and arterial traffic settling into exterior tracks, and grit under a steel wheel behaves like a grinding compound on soft aluminum. Where the track is still serviceable we fit a stainless steel cap over the original crown, which gives the rollers a hard, true surface and outlasts the aluminum underneath. Where it is corroded or crushed past that, the track section is cut out and replaced, the weep holes cleared, and the sub-sill resealed before anything goes back on top of it.
Any one of these on its own is worth a call. Two or more together means the door is past the point where waiting saves money.
A handful of causes account for nearly every track repair call we take. Knowing which one you have is most of the job.
Original builder tracks are soft. Once a steel roller has cut into the crown, replacement rollers ride straight back into that groove. Frequent in West Anaheim.
Tall or three-panel doors put more load on the same builder track, which is why heavy doors wear tracks out faster. A standard finding on local calls.
When the track cannot drain, standing water corrodes the aluminum from the inside out and stains the sill. Common through Anaheim Hills and Colony Historic District.
Where the track meets the frame is the first place moisture gets in, and it eats the metal from underneath. We find this constantly around here.
Furniture dragged across the threshold, or a heavy panel dropped during a previous repair, flattens the crown the rollers need. Typical of doors near Angel Stadium.
The bottom track of a patio door is also a drainage channel. Those small slots at the outer edge are weep holes, and their job is to take water that gets past the panel and put it outside. When grit and landscape debris pack them solid, the track holds water instead — sitting against aluminum, under the panel, for as long as it takes to evaporate.
That is how tracks corrode from the inside out, and it is also how water finds its way into the sub-sill and, eventually, the framing behind it. In Anaheim we see it most on doors where landscaping sits tight to the threshold or where a patio slopes slightly toward the house rather than away from it.
Clearing the weep path is part of every track job we do, and it costs nothing extra. If the sub-sill has already taken damage we will tell you what we have found and document it, rather than sealing a new track down over wet timber.
Near Angel Stadium and across Anaheim Hills, Colony Historic District and Platinum Triangle, hot, dry inland summers with Santa Ana wind episodes, and a lot of dust and grit from freeway and arterial traffic settling into exterior tracks does the damage. Grit is not dirt in this context — it is an abrasive sitting between a steel wheel and soft aluminum, all day, for twenty years.

The city holds several kinds of housing at once, so the first question we ask is which one you are in. Older flatland homes and the historic district tend to have simple, original doors; the hills have large, heavy openings with strong afternoon sun; and the newer condo communities have association rules about what can be fitted.
We run the same sequence on every sliding door track repair & replacement job we take, so you know what you are paying for before the technician arrives.
Panel out, track inspected end to end for grooving, crush damage and corrosion
We show you the wear — most homeowners have never seen the top of their own track. Same on every job we take here.
Where the track is serviceable, a stainless steel cap is fitted over the original crown to give the rollers a hard, true surface
Where it is not, the track section is cut out and a new track set into the frame. No exceptions, anywhere we work.
Weep holes are cleared so the sill drains the way it was designed to
Sub-sill is resealed before anything goes back on top of it. Documented on every visit.
New or existing rollers are set to the corrected track height and the door is run through its full travel
Track Repair here starts at $225, quoted up front in writing, with no trip charge and no estimate fee.
Track Repair here starts at $225. What takes a job above that is straightforward: the size and weight of the panel, whether the track needs capping or replacing alongside the hardware, whether the frame is a current profile or a discontinued one that needs a sourced part, and whether the latch and weatherstrip need attention at the same time. Large hillside sliders with a strong western exposure, where afternoon heat loads both the glass and the rollers — which is one reason a door on a hard exposure can cost more to put right than an identical door on a sheltered wall.
What we will not do is quote the starting price on the phone and revise it on the day. If a technician finds something outside the quoted scope, the work stops and you are shown the problem before anything else happens. You can see the starting price for every service we offer on our sliding door repair pricing guide.
We match the roller assembly, track and hardware to your frame rather than forcing a universal part into it. Where a manufacturer part has been discontinued — common on older Anaheim frames — we source the correct equivalent.
